WHO IS MARISSA GARCIA?

The Full Picture

Marissa is one of the actors working today who is comfortable working across genres and mediums. She's played everything from strong independents to ditzy best friends; her good sense of humor, quirkiness and warmth hints at the surprises underneath her good looks and confident exterior.Marissa grew up with her two younger siblings in suburban Philadelphia, PA. At an early age, it was apparent to her family she was musically inclined. For instance, as a preschooler, she attended a production of Annie at the Walnut Street Theatre, where after the performance she immediately looked up at her Mom and asked "...when can I do that?" Moving forward from that eventful day, Marissa immediately began her theatrical pursuits by beginning dance training at ContempraDANCE studio, performing in theatre classes at the Music Training Centre, joining community theatre productions, and being a part of every middle school musical production. Marissa continued towards her theatrical dreams by attending the Philadelphia High School for Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA) as a vocal major and dance minor. Upon graduation from CAPA, Marissa continued to fuel her ambitions by matriculating a Millikin University where she received advanced training in acting, dance, and vocals. Not surprisingly, Marissa's academic dedication resulted in her placement on the Dean's list in each of her college semesters and she earned her BFA in Musical Theatre with a Dance Minor. Marissa currently made her Marietta debut in the musical 1940s Radio Hour as Ginger Brooks with The Strand Theatre. Marissa loves to go outdoors and ride her scooter; she blasts her eclectic and diverse music playlist whenever she can, enjoys the artistic freedom of makeup artistry, loves going on adventures with her friends and boyfriend David, and above all, cherishes her family and cats, Mason, Millie, and Milo!
